Stephanie Jones joins John Lewis and civil rights luminaries on Congressional Civil Rights Pilgrimage

Stephanie Jones will participate in the Faith & Politics Institute’s Congressional Civil Rights Pilgrimage led by Congressman John Lewis this weekend, March 2-4.

She will be a part of a bi-partisan, multi-racial, and inter-denominational delegation that includes Rep. Barbara Lee, Rep. Steny Hoyer, Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, Juanita Abernathy, Ethel Kennedy, Bernard Lafayette, and Morris Dees.

The three-day pilgrimage will go to Birmingham, Montgomery and Selma, Alabama where, according to Congressman Lewis, “conscience, courage and conviction changed a nation.” Among the stops will be the Kelly Ingram Park, Sixteenth Street Baptist Church, the Dexter Avenue Baptist Church, and the Southern Poverty Law Center. On Sunday, we will re-enact the 1965 Bloody Sunday march across the Edmund Pettus Bridge.

You can follow the journey wherever you are through the Faith & Politics Institute’s Virtual Pilgrimage site
